Answer

Answer b. ADH stimulates aquaporin insertion into the apical cell membranes of the renal principle cells; aquaporins are water channels that allow reabsorption of water in the distal tubules and collecting ducts of the nephron. Nausea stimulates ADH release, and decreased osmolarity inhibits ADH release from the supraoptic nucleus of the hypothalamus. The effect of ADH on vascular smooth muscle is vasoconstriction.
