Answer

Answer a.

Upper airway obstruction is characterized by inspiratory stridor. Croup, epiglottitis, and airway foreign bodies can be causes of upper airway obstruction. Bronchospasm is usually characterized by expiratory wheezing, while a patient with pneumonia may have crackles on lung exam; a patient with a pneumothorax may have absent breath sounds and hyperresonance to percussion on the affected side.
