Verapamil should not be given for the treatment of SVT in patients with Wolff- Parkinson-White syndrome because:

a) It has not been shown to be effective at terminating SVT in these patients

b) It can precipitate ventricular tachydysrhythmias in these patients

c) Its onset of action is delayed in patients with WPW

d) Reflex tachycardia and decreased afterload may lead to hypertensive crisis

e) Verapamil is NOT contraindicated in patients with WPW
