Answer d. Intracranial pressure monitoring would be very helpful for patients
with hepatic failure (with or without OLT); however, there is considerable risk of
insertion of a monitor into the cranium of a patient with coagulopathy and
thrombocytopenia. At some centers this is performed, but it is not a routine
monitor.
