Brunner Glands function to:
a) Secrete alkaline fluid to neutralize the acidic chyme that enters the intestine
b) Secrete digestive enzyme in the stomach to break down food that enters from the esophagus
c) Secrete HCl- in the stomach to break down food that enters from the esophagus
d) Secrete pancreatic enzyme in the intestine to help break down chyme that enters into the intestine

Answer a. Brunner Glands are found in the intestine along the submucosal layer. They function to secrete alkaline fluid to neutralize the acidic chyme from the stomach. Chief cells in the stomach secrete digestive enzymes to help break down food. Parietal cells in the stomach secrete HCl- to help breakdown food.
