Answer b. The Foregut gives rise to the pharynx, esophagus, stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas and the cranial portion of the duodenum. The Midgut gives rise to the caudal portion of the duodenum, jejunum, ileum, the ascending colon, and proximal 2/3 of the transverse colon. The Hindgut gives rise to the distal one third of the transverse colon, as well as the descending colon, rectum, and urogenital sinus.
