When administering local anesthetic to the trachea and vocal cords prior to endoscopy, an appropriate choice and would be:
a) Bupivacaine 0.25% with epinephrine, 4 mg/kg
b) Lidocaine 4%, 3 mg/kg
c) Lidocaine 1% with epinephrine, 5 mg/kg
d) 2-Chloroprocaine 1.5%, 1 mg/kg

Lidocaine, 2-4% is the most appropriate local anesthetic to administer for airway topicalization. A maximum dose of 3-4 mg/kg is recommended due to rapid absorption from mucosal surfaces.
