The supraclavicular block results in sensory loss in all of the following areas of the upper extremity EXCEPT:
a) The posterior aspect of the thumb
b) The medial aspect of the little finger
c) The lateral aspect of the forearm
d) The medial aspect of the upper arm
e) The medial aspect of the forearm

Answer d. The medial aspect of the upper arm is supplied by the intercostobrachial nerve, and is not anesthetized by supraclavicular block. The remainder of the arm is adequately covered by this block, colloquially called the “spinal of the arm.”
