Special processing by irradiation may reduce the incidence of which of the following:
a) Graft verses Host disease associated with blood transfusion.
b) Hyperkalemia associated with blood transfusion.
c) The risk of TRALI associated with blood transfusion.
d) The risk of non-hemolytic transfusion reactions associated with blood transfusion.

Answer a. The incidence of Graft versus Host disease is reduced with the use of irradiation and is indicated in transfusion to immunocompromised patients. Irradiation will not impact the risk of the other listed complications as described.
