The following is NOT a site of normal hematopoiesis in the embryo and fetus:
a) Liver
b) Spleen
c) Skin
d) Yolk sac
e) Lymph nodes

Answer c. Cutaneous extramedullary hematopoiesis is not a normal part of fetal or infant development, and usually reflects severe systemic disease or bone marrow failure. The other sites listed are all responsible for hematopoiesis at different stages of development.
