Arrhythmias are much less significant after an intramuscular injection of succinylcholine. This occurrence of arrhythmias is much more common and frequent after repeated dose of succinylcholine. Atropine appears to offer some protection against these bradyarrhythmias in children, but does not completely eliminate it.
